ALTIMATE will design and execute low-current installations for the Bucharest Metro Line 6

ALTIMATE, a member of the TIU Group, signed in March 2025 the contract for the design and execution of architectural works, track, electromechanical and low-current installations for the newest metro line in Bucharest, M6.

The low-current installations that will be designed and commissioned by ALTIMATE’s specialists at M6 are: fiber optic cable network, radio communication installations and equipment, telephone installations and equipment, heating installations and equipment, closed circuit television installations and equipment, burglar alarm systems, fire detection, signaling and warning systems.

The M6 Magistrala project will meet the needs of Bucharest residents and tourists to ensure connectivity between the most important railway gateway, Bucharest North Station, and the country’s largest airport, Henri Coandă International Airport (Otopeni).

The execution period of the contract is 44 months and includes design, execution, approval and related activities, in accordance with the legislation in force. The contract was awarded through an open tender procedure in SEAP, based on the award criterion “Best value for money”. The value of the contract is 1.66 billion lei excluding VAT.

Altimate has extensive experience and expertise in the field of underground transportation as it has participated in recent years in the execution of the weak current installations for the M4 and M5 Magistrale.

Between 2005 – 2015 the company realized weak current installations similar to those to be executed for the M6, as well as automatic ticketing systems and dynamic passenger information systems (including public address systems) for all existing or modernized metro lines (M1, M2, M3).
