TIU leads the way in compliance: A Case Study on ISO 37001 certification presented to the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards

TIU Management, the management company of TIU Holdings, has been invited to present a comprehensive case study on its successful implementation of a robust compliance program and the certification process for ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery Management System) to the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS). This invitation comes as TTBS embarks on its journey to implement and certify ISO 37301 and ISO 37001.

In her presentation held on June 11th, 2025, Florentina Constantin, Compliance Officer, shared valuable insights and practical guidance from the Group’s own experience in achieving ISO 37001 certification, outlined the key aspects of TIU’s compliance programs that have been pivotal in establishing a culture of integrity: a set of well-defined internal regulations designed to document and standardize core business processes and emphasized the lessons learned throughout the process of developing a comprehensive compliance framework.

Furthermore, the presentation highlighted essential risk mitigation strategies, such as implementing thorough employee training programs to raise awareness about compliance and ethical behaviour. TIU’s dedication to fostering a speak-up culture was also a key focus of the presentation.

“We are honoured to be invited to share our experience with the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards,” said Florentina Constantin. “We firmly believe that the implementation of ISO 37001 serves as a crucial pillar in building strong, ethical businesses. Not only does it help us gain the trust of our clients and partners, but it also allows us to navigate the complexities of today’s global marketplace with integrity and responsibility.”

A key takeaway from TIU’s experience is the importance of disseminating best practices with business organisations or regulatory bodies by sharing steps taken, lessons learned and engaging in global dialogues on compliance meant to promote the importance of integrity and accountability across the business ecosystem.

Since receiving the certification, the anti-bribery management system has become a core element of the business operations of TIU certified member companies –  certSIGN, UTI Construction and Facility Management, Trident Servicii și Mentenanță, TIU Management and TIU Holdings – ensuring that both employees and stakeholders are aligned with best practices in preventing bribery and corruption.
